I couldn’t resist buying a 7 foot tall mirror for the ballroom. It’s a reproduction of the sort of thing you might find in the Palace of Versailles ballroom which was the inspiration I wanted to emmulate without the budget.

I’ve changed my mind about the floor covering. Originally I planned parquet but the room is already very echoey. I’m going to lay carpet instead with a thick wool underlay to take out some of the echos. There is much less work in that so there is a fair chance I’ll get the first room finished this year.
